This position will assist with managing the Learn It Summer School Camp. The On-Site Supervisor for the Summer School Camp will be responsible for all related start-up and daily onsite operations, i.e. site management activities for assigned site which includes set-up, classroom management with children in grades 1-8, completing site visit checklist, child attendance management, enrichment activities, relationship building. Responsible for following the processes associated with collecting all program data.

 

Summer Camp Training Schedule: June 17th – June 21st Monday – Friday 12:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Summer Camp Schedule: June 24th – July 26th Monday – Friday 12:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. (closed July 4th and 5th)

School Location: Barton Elementary School, 8530 Joy Rd, Detroit, MI 48204

 

Pay Rate: $30 per hour

Responsibilities

The Summer School On-Site Supervisor will serve in a lead role and will provide input as it relates to program and individual employee performance. The On-Site Supervisor should have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide verbal, constructive feedback to staff. The On-Site Supervisor would consult with his/her manager prior to issuing any disciplinary warnings.

 

  • Actively engages students and advocates the Summer School camp for Learn It   
  • Arrives prior to the start of the Summer School Camp and assists in preparing the enrichment area(s)
  • Stays after the end of the Summer School Camp to close down the enrichment area(s)
  • Establishes a positive rapport with both parents, school administration and staff  
  • Possesses strong classroom management skills and ensures the site is organized with all required, activity materials  
  • Acts as a resource for staff, substitutes for staff as needed  
  • Has the capability to create enrichment lesson plans/activities for all students
  • Creates a supportive learning environment for students and a high level of staff morale and spirit for site team 
  • Performs observation on enrichment sessions to ensure that we deliver quality service
  • Deploys techniques to foster a safe and healthy learning environment
  • Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma
  • Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
  • STEM, Performing Arts, Sports and Recreation experience preferred
  • Computer literacy is a must
  • Background Check/Fingerprinting is required
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to principals, classroom teachers, and parents
  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong code of ethics and must be able to work well independently
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Work location is in a school building where employee will need to be able to go up and down stairs
  • Frequent standing and ability to raise arms above the head
  • Hand dexterity for typing and entering data into a computer
